Looking ahead to 2023
Though the Winnipegosis Museum is put to bed for the winter (literally, as the artifacts and belongings are covered with bed sheets to help reduce the effects of humidity and dust) the Winnipegosis Historical Society is busy planning for 2023.
In January, February we are busy with grants and planning renovations. In April we will hold our annual AGM and if the weather cooperates the museums will be open in early May!
We will be celebrating the coronation of King Charles with a new Royal display.
This year in the spirit of Truth and Reconciliation we will be sharing the contribution the Indigenous industries have made to the economic development of this area!
We also have expanded our agriculture displays and now have examples of grains used in this area as well as several early farmers’s journals as well as new pictures of early farming activities. Looking at prices then and now makes you stop and think.
We also have an expanded collection of old cameras that will be on display in the Medd house. There are some exciting stories to go with these cameras.
As we start the new year we would like to once again thank all our supporters. Your financial support, contribution of artifacts, stories, pictures, volunteer hours and visits all help us to preserve our history for the future.
